Meet Cypherbird Projects Founder & Creative Director
Cypherbird Projects founder and Creative Director Lisa Wagner Erickson is a playwright, theatre artist, and occasional performer & singer whose varied experience includes singing at Red Rocks, performing sketch comedy at Boulder Theater, and plays that have been developed and produced across the United States.
From 2018 - 2022, she was the owner and Creative Director of Theater 29 , a Denver venue dedicated to original work by Colorado playwrights and multi-genre artists.
Under her leadership, Theater 29 and Cypherbird Projects have featured the work of over 45 Colorado creative artists, including 30 playwrights and theatre artists.
A True West Award winner, she has also been a finalist for the Gary Garrison Award for 10-Minute Plays, a regional finalist for the KCACTF 10-Minute Play Award, a PlayPenn semi-finalist, and a Landing Theatre’s New American Voices semi-finalist.
Lisa is an instructor at the Community College of Denver, where she has taught courses in playwriting and theater appreciation. She is also a playwriting instructor for Lighthouse Writers Workshop youth programs. She has been a guest artist at the Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive and holds an MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen from Lesley University.
